I have a dog and a cat and I just adopted a new puppy, which have found out , has kennel cough. Is this this contagious to my adult dog and cat?
It's extremely contagious to other dogs. Even dogs who have had bordatella shots.
If the pup has kennel cough, quarantine him away from your other animals.

it is contagious to other dogs, yes.. but I dont think cats can get it.
Your older dogs may or may not get it.. they may have some immunity to fight it off. Stress ussually lowers a dog's immunity to it, so its common to pick it up while being kennelled, or while at the pound.

Kennel cough is HIGHLY contagious - my vet told me that a dog can catch it just sniffing a tree that an infected dog coughed on! The good news is, if your dog is otherwise healthy (I'm really not sure if cats get it) it's not much worse than a bad cold. You can treat the cough symptom if necessary to allow the dog to get some sleep, give him/her plenty of liquids and keep him/her warm.

Kennel cough is highly contagious to other dogs. It is called kennel cough because it frequently is contracted when dog is in boarding kennel.
I don't believe cats can be infected, but check with Vet. You need to have Vet see pup for immunizations, etc.
A shot of vaccine could have prevented the kennel cough if given before the exposure.

Highly contagious. My old Boxer had this when we got him, he started coughing and being sick when we got him home. We put it down to a long car journey. By next morning we literally thought he was dying. Thankfully a trip to the vet sorted him out. I assume all the animals have been in contact with each other so its probably too late to try and prevent the passing of the disease. Sadly our Boxer died, we have since aquired a Boxer pup who we had vaccinated against kennel cough. After seeing it once I never want to witness that again.

It is absolutely contagious to other dogs. You should try and keep your other dog away from the puppy as much as possible and make sure you get an antibiotic for the puppy until it is better. Kennel cough can last for up to a month, so just be very cautious.

It is extremely contagious to other dogs, but I am not sure about cats. If your older dog has its bordatella vaccine up to date I wouldn't be too worried, but still have them both looked at right away.
