What is the best cure for a dry cough?

It is a dry cough sounds like a bark which has been going on for 2 weeks. Keeps everyone in the house awake at night. Doctor says it's viral. Taking cough medicine especially for dry coughs also antibiotics doctor prescribed but nothing is working. Any suggestions please. also tried steam.

I had the dry cough last week.
I used dry cough medicine, plenty of sleep and warm drinks like lemsip or hot water helped.

Well what i do when i get those is takind a long sip of water or soda (any kind will do) and that helps it go down.

Well I know that it can be a pain in the *** the cough…
My grand mother gave me this and it worked…
heat some beer in a small pot add 3 Tablespoons of Clove Honey and the juice of one large lemon…
Don't boil you are heating it only….
