What does it mean when a dog coughs out blood?

My dog is a maltese.
age: 12 years old.
weight: 2100 grams.
it coughs out mucous like, blood with saliva.

This is where you take your dog to the vet. Like, NOW. If it’s coughing up blood, it could be blood in the lungs or stomach. Or something worse.
