How can someone who has severe chronic bronchitis and coughs constantly continue smoking cigarettes?

I do not understand. This guy coughs and clears his throat every single blessed waking minute. He is my temporary flatmate or roommate as some may call them.

if you suffer from chronic bronchitis and cough plus clear your throat ever waking minute of your day, then why in the world do people like that smoke yet?

Can anyone help me understand?

Therein lies the insanity of any addiction. You keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. There is no rhyme or reason to it my friend.

    Because they are morons and do not care or even want to think about the extreme damage they are doing to their lungs when they are that sick to begin with.

    That's because most people have no sense of well being. They walk out of the doctors office with 'scripts for cough meds, throat lozenges, inhalers and light up ! I've seen people with oxygene in a track and put a cigg in the opening to get their high.

    That all mighty cigg rules the world.
