What does it mean if youre coughing up green mucus?

I had a huge headache earlier and my throat is now sore from coughing so much. When i take a deep breath in it sounds weird too. Its come on in the last two days, when is it gonna go away?

Green mucus suggests the infection is bacterial not viral. But quite possibly it is both types. You could see if a doctor, who might give you antibiotics, but it is best to just get over it yourself if possible. Giving people antibiotics increases the resistance of bacteria to antibiotics.

    You have an infection, see a doctor. May need antibiotics to help get rid of it. Going away, possible a week or less.

    Sounds like you have allergies or a cold. Its nothing to worry about it will probably go away in about a couple days if its a cold. If its allergies you would have to go to a Doctor to find out what your allergic to.

    It means you should stay at home and ask strangers on the Internet with no medical knowledge, training or expertise what is wrong with you and then act upon their totally uninformed recommendations.

    Do NOT go to the doctor under any circumstances, since they’ll just run a bunch of tests and give you the proper medicine to cure you. Why would you want to do that when there is a Yahoo Answers world of people with no idea what’s wrong with you willing to tell you what you’ve got and what to do about it?

    I think you have the creeping gunge, myself. A classic case. Take a bath in a tub full of honey and you should feel great in the morning.

    call your doctor could be simple or complex but you always want to "nip it in the butt".
