What are some ways to stop coughing when you start smoking ciggarettes?

I just started and cant stop coughing. Please don’t write you shouldn’t smoke or something like that. thanks
What you have to do is get used to inhaling. The way to do this is to take a small puff, and inhale very slowly. When you start to feel the urge to cough, hold your breath and try really hard to not cough. When the feeling passes, exhale the smoke, and do it again. If you do this for just 4 or 5 puffs, trying hard to not cough, you should be able to easily inhale without coughing. After that, you have to work on building up a tolerance to the nicotine so that you can smoke a whole cigarette without getting dizzy. When you are ready for this, write me and I will help.

Maybe try smoking lights or ultra lights. Are you inhaling also? You body is not use to it. Don’t give up, your body will get use to it. Good Luck.

well, try not smoking as much….but to be honest, you wanna smoke, you cough….they just go together….i know, i smoked for 4 years and when i got a little cough, it lasted forever and was horrible…im glad i quit, my coughing has gotten better

Ummmmmm what? You have decided to smoke thus you have decided to have a constant cough. The two go hand in hand, there is no possible way to stop coughing while you smoke.
You are coughing because you lungs are trying to rid itself of nasty build up. If you didn’t cough then this build up will get to a point where you can longer breathe.

anytime we inhale pollutants, no matter what kind they are we will cough…but you answered your own question….

you gotta work your way man. Start with lights and then go to full flavors. Don’t inhale every puff, you gotta take your time. This is your initiation into a special club don’t rush it.
