Obviously I’ve inhaled some dust from the Sydney dust storm and I keep coughing. I’ve tried tea, have been drinking water all morning but nothing has helped. Anyone got some remedies to stop the tickle in the back of my throat?
first gargle … so that you dont ingest the more dust, then take some water, or tea could be even better.

Good Morning Australia! That is some dust storm you’re having.
Tea or water probably do not have enough body to them to flush the dust from your throat. Perhaps some bread, or similar food, washed down with milk might help. A milkshake? Ice cream? Otherwise you may have to eat something that will activate your sinuses, putting them into action to help clear the dust. Maybe something hot and spicy.
I hope the dust settles before too long.

It happened to me when I inhaled the Sydney dust. I coughed for 5 minutes and after I drank water I become fine.
I guess you inhaled a little TOO much. LOL.

Oh I know – I have the same problem!!!!!!
I’m not really sure there is much you can do, because if it’s in your lungs then water won’t really help much. Though, if it’s settled higher then water will defs help.
Unfortunately for me..water/food hasn’t helped at all =[ i’ve tried searching online for other things to do but I haven’t really found much.
I think hopefully after a few hours or so it’ll go away.
I sure hope this dust goes soon! visibility here is shocking!!

Actually coughing is your bodies natural method for removing that which you accidentally breathed in.

we got it again now saturday night i recommend wear a mask
this dust comes from our open cut mines out west that mine iron ore/and uranium both very dangerous when inhaled obviously not all dust is uranium but definantly has a mix of bad stuff in it….you would be foolish to think otherwise …
to stop coughing stay inside close all doors/windows ect turn on air conditioner and wear a mask
medically you can get a steroid puffer from your gp it expands your lungs and helps you breath
