Drinking Alcohol after taking codine cough syrup?

Uh, I took a teaspoon of codeine cough syrup at about 11:30 this morning and just took a 2nd teaspoon at about 45 minutes ago. Would it be alright to drink alcohol, or should I stay from alcohol tonight?
I was planning on getting drunk before taking the second teaspoon, but now Im leaning towards not drinking. Thanks for the answers.

No. Codeine is a very strong drug which is metabolized in the liver. So is alcohol. If you mix the two, you will be stressing your liver and possibly causing damage. Hold off on the booze till you’re better.
You’ll ruin the buzz from the syrup, anyway, dude.

Its not suggested that you mix them, due to the problems it can cause the liver, but with that time they are spaced you should be fine, just don’t drink excessive, as codeine is known to slow your breathing and also alcohol does too, which means if you pass out you could possibly stop breathing.

No! Please steer clear of alcohol or any other depressant as long as you’re taking codeine since codeine is an opiate (narcotic) and is extremely powerful in and of itself let alone alcohol, too. Please be smart and make good choices in life
