a cough followed by mucus is a sign of a chest infection, you need the doctors asap for antibiotics to help it before it gets worse, most prob acute bronchitis, but could be pleurisy or pneumonia.

9 out of 10 times its a result of a cold or flu with people that dont have asthma. sufferers will get chst infections more commonly through anything.

Your lungs probably went through a lot of stress, some people who suffer from pneumonia have permanent breathing problems, some 10% reduction, some more and others less—It depends on how early it was caught, and how severe the infection was and how fit/healthy the patient is.

By permanent I just mean long-term, I guess no damage to the lungs can be considered forever unless they’re like physically removed or something.. Anyways, I’d call my doctor for a quick check-up to ask about the cough so you don’t end up being hospitalized again (people who suffer pneumonia once are more likely to suffer it again.. You know how sofa cushions can get pressed in by people sitting/laying on them long enough, that’s sort of what happened to your lungs, the bacteria made it more hospitable for future infections)

Anyways, I can’t force you to visit your doctor so I’ll give you some information to help you out..

I would wait to see the vet tomorrow.. Not all coughing is due to kennel cough. And the cough medicine meant for humans a lot of them are unsafe. the only thing I use for when my dog get sick is benedryl and hyland's cough syrup with 100% all natural honey for kids 2+ years. I also got my vets approval on both of these medications My dogs range in size to no more than 1 1/2 cc depending on size. Go to your vet it is the safest. I go to my vet anyway when My dogs cough just be be sure it is not something else.

One more day of coughing is not harmful.
Giving the wrong medicine or dose can kill them.

Btw you can vaccinate them when healthy so they don’t get it again.

You can phone your vet and ask how much. Make sure you know what brand to use too, there's a very specific brand that's able to be used for dogs with kennel cough.

You can not give your dog human cough syrup. You need to get your dogs to a vet where a vet can prescribe medicine meant for dogs.

But the following ayurvedic medicine

SEPTILIN Table (By Himalaya)

2-2 (with hot water/tea for 15 days)

thereafter 1 -1 tablet

if hot water/ tea not available, take with normal water.

see the result in 10-15 days

u should be fully cured in 2-3 months.

When u are cured fully as tonic against cold/cough u can take septilin during winter and rainy seasons (few weeks each time)

Bronchitis. Almost definetly Bronchitis; the green mucus is one of the key indicators. The nose stuff too. And you probably had a low-grade fever, which would feel very temporary. You'll need to see a doctor, since many things can cause the bronchitis, some are dangerous.

There’s no cough medicine that u can safely give to a baby under the age of 2yrs old ..and they even wanna start taking that off the markets too.

What u can do is..elevate her head while she’s sleeping. Warm up her milk/ apple juice. Milk produces more mucus so if u can give her apple juice and warm it up a little bit. The warm liquid thins the mucus. Sit in the bathroom with her with the door shut and fill it with steam by running hot water. Or buy a humidifier..the fresh, moist air will help clear her nasal passages and the hot air will also loosen mucous. They also sell baby drops. Where u put a few nasal drops in her nose and suction it out with a bulb suction syriny. She won’t like it but it works wonders.
