swollen tonsils, ear ache and bad phlegm cough for 2 weeks?
02.August, 2011
I assume its strep throat but i have had strep throat before and i have never had a cough with phlegm while sick with strep… but what else could it be…it hurts to swallow and seems like the right tonsil and right ear seem to be infected. and its worse at night….
I will be seeing a doctor but i cant get an appointment till next week….im just wondering what else it could be?
You need a new doctor … you could be dead before this jerk sees you …………………………………..
Around 3 days ago I woke up with a sore throat. It hurts to swallow, my tongue is yellowish at the back nearer to my throat, when I cough I often produce phlegm. Although I do not have a headache, or a runny nose etc.
What could this be or is it just a sore throat?
There’s definitely a possibility you could have strep throat.
Why do Some People Cough up Phlegm After a Meal?
24.May, 2011
I’ve noticed that some folks cough and sometimes spit after eating a good meal. What’s that about?
idk really know it happens to me some times esspecially depending on the food

If you have had a cough and phlegm for about two months, though no fever, would you think it nec. to make appt?

Other than coughing a lot, I have no other symptoms. Tussin and Sudafed seems to help, though as soon as the time is up on the meds, I am back to coughing again. I have no tightness in the chest, no wheezing, no headache or body aches…I have been attributing it to very low moisture in the air, and am not feeling sick at all, otherwise. The cough is just a nuissance.
you could have a mild upper respiratory infection kicking around, it’s that time of year, nothing major but if it’s feasible I’d have a doc listen to your lungs for the sake of it even if you don’t feel wheezy. it’s what you’d want your daughter to do if she were sick for two months, right? she’s at the age of watching you. not trying to guilt trip you just saying if you can go to the doc you might as well. *butt grab hug*
i have bronchitis, i took the antibiotics but still have chest pain and cough up green phlegm?
26.April, 2011
I have bronchitis, i took the antibiotics for 14 days, but still have chest pain and cough up green phlegm. Does this mean that I still have bronchitis or could I just be still coughing up stuff that got broken up? Im also taking mucinex DM…
call the doctor in the morning and talk to the nurse you might not be over it yet. keep trying to cough that junk up and drink lots of fluids.green indicates infection.
Is it normal to cough up phlegm for 4 weeks?
22.April, 2011
I’m 21 years old, smoked pretty much everyday for 2.5 years. I quit smoking about a month or so ago. I have been having nasty coughs almost everyday since then. Is it normal for this, is my body just trying to get rid of all the nasty shit my body was holding onto? Thanks.
The phlegm is yellow-ish green, mostly yellow, sometimes some gross sneezes with some dark color. No fever at all, been feeling pretty much better than ever besides the coughs.
what color is the phlegm? any fever?
EDIT: yellowish green could be infection and if it is ,it can lead to bronchitis then pneumonia if left untreated.
Coughing up phlegm is normal but nasty cough with yellow-green color sputum could be something. If you develop fever thats definitely an infection..
dark/black/brown means old blood..
Go see a dr to make sure..
We went to the Dr. He says there is no medicine and to just use a vaporizer..but it doesn’t go away. Any home remedies?
I got the Vick’s vaporizer for my son when he had a bad respitory chest infection. I would put a pinch of salt in it to make it hotter and I would have it near him as much as possible and when he was in the bath. After a couple days it eventually helped. They also have baby vicks rub for soothing. Otherwise, I don’t know of much else that the baby could do or take because 2 months is so little.
The saline drops really helped keep his nose from getting raw.
Since my husband quit smoking 3 weeks ago, he only coughed up phlegm 3 x and does not have a cough, what does?

this mean for an ex smoker that smoked 1 pack per day from the age of 24 to the current age of 48?
We heard that he will be coughing up a lot of phlegm for the first 2 months after quitting due to his lungs clearing out the junk from smoking.
So does the lack of cough and phlegm mean that his lungs were not in very bad shape after 24 years of smoking?
It could mean that, yes. Depends a lot on what kind of cigs he smoked and how hard he inhaled. A lot of people smoke cigs and don’t fully inhale; almost like a cigar.
Good on him for quitting!
How do I treat Phlegm with no cough?
26.December, 2010
I am a female teenager, and i constantly have phlegm. No coughing or throat aches so far, but i sneeze about 3-4 times on a daily basis. Please help!
I do not have any allergies either.
try using Olbas oil from the chemist, put a few drops in a jug of steaming hot water and inhale. do this every day for at least a week. I loosens the phlegm and it should clear it away.
Is it unhealthy to cough up phlegm every day?
22.December, 2010
I’m young (21), I don’t smoke, eat a fairly normal diet, yet I’ve found in the last couple of years I’ve found myself coughing up small quantities of phlegm usually at least once a day. It’s usually of a pale colour, with no greenness or blood to it.
I’m aware that some people will naturally have more phlegm than others, so my question is, is this just the way my body works or is it symptomatic of some kind of problem?
Thank you.
That is just the way your body works.
