what can I do about an asthma cough?

I have been to the doctor several times and they just say my asthma in not under Control. Dahhh! I know that but what else can I do other than use my inhaler all the time.

The dr needs to put you on a controller inhaler in order to get your asthma under control. Controller inhalers such as Symbicort or Advair usually work pretty well. They contain a long acting steroid (for the inflammation) and a long acting bronchodilator (for the bronchoconstriction). You take it twice a day… usually once in the morning and once in the evening. Your other inhalers such as Albuterol, combivent, atrovent, etc… should only be used as rescue inhalers…meaning they should only be used when you are having an asthma attack. If you start taking a controller inhaler, you will use one of the other 3 I mentioned inbetween the controller doses. You should only use your controller inhaler for controlling your asthma and never for when you are having an asthma attack.. it takes too long to work and can cause serious harm.
