I’m really worried because i want to train my lungs for longer distance running but I always have problems with breathing afterwards.
Yeah, I only have it while running when I don’t concentrate on my breathing. It hurts after I run, but doesn’t last very long. I just REALLY don’t want asthma because the Marine Corps can’t have asthmatic Marines. I hope this is only because I haven’t run in awhile.
If this only AFTER running and not during, then it might not be. I mean I don’t know how much you’re coughing and weezing, but if its not that bad you don’t have asthma. I used to have that…especially after tough workouts and races. Never really effected me during the races or runs though.
Might as well get it checked out if its a bother.

you might have a little asthma. go to the doctor, get an inhaler, and it might go away. I had asthma, I used an inhaler regularly, and in a week, I stopped coughing after running.
good luck!!!!

I have exercise induced asthma, created when I started running last March. 10 yrs ago I ran as well for 3 years, I didn’t have asthma then.
I have to say you sound like I do but I take my inhaler with me. I can train myself *somewhat* to deal with it for running but it’s hard when it’s an attack.
