Coughing Asthma, Winter colds that turn into chest infections?

Hi All, I Am 31 and diagnosed with Coughing Asthma last year, from as far as i remember i have always coughed, I am healthy, and my only vice is drinking, every weekend. Last year I had a cold every season, and then it turned into a chest infection, wheezing and dry cough, this is starting to annoy me as i am not normally Ill, just had another cold/chest infection in december, does anyone have any ideas I could try to stop the cold spreading to the lungs?

    to stop it i dont know but the dry coughing and wheezing could be a sign for bronchitis. mabe a visit to your doctor could solve the case.
    F.Y.I.– a family member has asthma and got the same thing (wheezing, dry cough, mucus and it was bronchitis).
