I have been coughing at night for the past 5 days. When I cough my chest hurts, I rub on some vix every night and I have been to the pharmacy and I was given some benylin cough medicine to take at night but nothing is working.

Why don’t you do what i do. I use honey and butter. Mix the two and it really works and taste good also. And it has no side affects.

This morning I heard him throw up and saw what I think is bile. He has been drinking and eating as usual. He is also urinating and pooping as usual. He was purring so loud this morning when I got out of bed. He coughed for a minute an hour later. He is diabetic so not sure if that has anything to do with the bile and coughing. I’m in the middle of searching for a new vet due to last vet not giving him good care.

From my experience, bile pukes are also known as hunger pukes. Did he skip a meal due to someone not feeding him or anything? We have had that happen once or twice in the past 21 years when we each thought the other had fed the dogs one of their meals. It won’t hurt them, but it sure does make them hungry! If so, feed him a bit so he doesn’t have an empty belly. We have found that when a dog misses a meal or gets one much later than usual (usually due to not being at home or appointments) feeding them their whole meal can cause tummy issues because they tend to eat so fast. We feed a little bit so they aren’t on an empty belly and feed the next meal as usual.

Over the past few years I have stopped feeding my dogs at a set time every day. When you vary the times, their bodies aren’t accustomed to eating at a specific time. When they are fed every day, even a meal being an hour late can cause hunger pukes. We haven’t had hunger pukes in years because we vary feeding times every day. Now, if I have to take one to a vet’s appointment during what used to be feeding time, it doesn’t matter because their bodies aren’t telling them they need to eat NOW.

This is just a suggestion. It may not be hunger pukes at all. If you don’t think it is, give your vet a ring. Your vet may be able to answer your questions over the phone :)

I hope your cat was only suffering from an empty belly. I will pray that it isn’t something more serious :)
