What are some remedies for a dry cough?

I have like this dry hacking cough, and I’ve seen some remedies, but most of them involve honey or ginger. Is there any other remedies?

What is it called in english when we start to cough for breathing air while driking? While driking, if we try to breath air, a little water goes in our breathing system and we cough. So what’s that called? I know it is not hiccup, because hiccup is the construction of diaframe.

Is there a cough remedy for a cough due to Pertussis?

I have a three year old daughter that has been diagnosed with Pertussis (Whooping Cough). The coughing spells are horrible. She is on an antibiotic and steroids. Cough syrups are useless. I was just curious if any of you have any suggestions or ideas for cough suppression.
Have steam in the room.

Have you contacted the doctor? Two things you need to do is keep his fever down & try to prevent dehydration. For the cough your probably going to need some Rx cough syrup.
