How to stop a dry cough?
29.March, 2011
I’ve been having this dry annoying cough for the past 2 days and it gets worse when I try to go to sleep. I can’t even sleep comfortably without coughing every 2 seconds. I’ve tried cough drops, cough syrups, teas work on when I’m drinking them, and it goes on for hours! I don’t get to sleep until like 3 am. Please somebody tell me what I can do to make this stupid tickle in the back of my throat go away along with this dry cough!
well actually, even if you think its a dry cough it could actually be mucus running down your throat. it gets worse at night because when you lay down it drips. I had the same exact problem and it drove me insane. you can ask your doctor for an allergy medicine or some nasonex which helps alot.
My mom is suffering from cough from past one year or so. Doctor has said that this is a seasonal problem & does occurs whenever there is a season change. He is saying that it doesn’t have any permanent solution.
Try searching on webmd.com for pulmonary specialists.
I hope your mom feels better soon, God bless.
I have a dry, very annoying cough and I’d like to do something about it, as it keeps me from sleeping. I tried to call the doc to see what she recommends but I couldn’t get a hold of her on Friday. Anyway, I am a breastfeeding mother so I need something that is safe to take while breastfeeding. I also welcome any home remedies if they work. ![]()
Thanks
Are you drinking enough fluids?
Try extra hydration to see if that helps.
Im 16 now. i smoke like maybe once every week or once every two weeks. i started smoking when i turned 14. and when i inhaled the smoke to my lungs i coughed HARD! and for a long time to. i mean my eyes were watery and it made me cry cuz the coughing. why is that? it happens to every one. BTW– After like the 3rd time i smoked a Cigarette i didnt cough.
your body is not used to the smoke. Some people have this terrible cough even when they’ve been smoking for a while, obviously because smoking has taken a toll on their lungs. Perhaps you are asthmatic and you cannot handle the smoking. You should quit right away before it’s too late and you become a true addict. Smoking for a long time can lead to COPD which is a pulmonary disease making you more susceptible to sickness, like frequent bronchitis and colds and all that great stuff and in the long run, emphysema….it’s bad.. you should stop immediately. besides it will make you look older sooner. Nobody wants to look older than they are, especially when you turn 30 or 40…ew.
What are some medical problems that would have a child coughing up blood and have a high fever?
22.March, 2011
No one i know has this, it’s for a story, so no worries but i just want to know
What are some medical problems that would have a child *girl, age 7* coughing harshly, coughing up blood and have a high fever?
Thanks!
A cold.
A flu.
The irritation alone can lead to coughing up a little bit of blood.
I am taking Robitussin cough syrup to help with my cold. It’s helping, as far as I can tell.
However since I started taking it my urine has smelled weird. It is very strong and very noticeable to me.
A close friend asked me if the medicine was helping any, and I told her it was but mentioned the smell and she says it sounds like there’s something wrong with my liver.
You are probably not drinking enough and your urine is very concentrated which can create a strong odor. It would also be a darker in color if this is the case. Drink more and see if it helps. I have never heard of cough syrup causing an odor in urine. Just doesn’t make any sense medically speaking. No, liver problems does not make the urine smell either unless you are in the very end stages of a terrible liver disease and getting close to total liver failure. If that were the case, you would certainly know it and have a lot more worse symptoms happening besides a strong smell to your urine.

twitching motion she is 8 years old and does this randomly and more often when she is lifted up and put back down. one to 2 times a day. She never coughs up hair balls. I am not even sure if its a cough its more of a weezing motion. Does anyone know what this may be. I know i should take her to the vet and i will soon. I just want to relieve her pain in the mean time.
stop feeding her milk. it will give her flem problems.
and it could be ( if you are not feeding her milk) she has developed an asama problem.
if so give a very soft rub under her neck when she is doing so, it will encourage her mussels to relax.

How can i get rid of or control this annoying dry cough?
14.March, 2011
I’ve had a sore throat and chest congestion this whole week and i’ve been taking medicine, relaxing, and watnot and i’m feeling a lot better, but now I’ve got this annoying dry cough that won’t stop, i cant go 2 minutes without it.
Help lol.
my husband and i have the same thing! Drink lots of water/fluids and keep doing what you are doing. If it still hasn’t gone away in a few days, I would go to the doctor just in case you need antibiotics or something. Sometimes bad colds can turn into bronchitis. boo
feel better soon!
What should I do to help control my cough variant asthma?
12.March, 2011
For the past two years I have been coughing everyday. A year ago I found out that I have cough variant asthma which is hard to treat and diagnose. I do not expect to be miraculously cured, but I do want relief!!! HELP PLEASE!!!!
I just did a web search. I started with Google and was sent to Web MD. (Who have a great reputation.) It says that people with cough-variant asthma should be treated like people with asthma. It continues…
Get an inhaler like Albuterol, Ipratropium. and /or inhaled steroids.(anti-inflammatory agents.) You should get relief in 6 to 8 weeks!
This excites me! Http://www.google.com and type in "cough variant asthma." Click on the first result. That’s WebMd. Scroll down to the bottom. If you can print that out (or write it down) and show it to your regular doctor. (I don’t think you even need to see a pulmonary specialist.) This could be your cure!!
Best of luck!!
