Hard Cough

I have a doctor appointment today and I actually have a cold. Scratchy throat, congestion, coughing flem, and sneezing constantly. I want the codeine kind. yes I’m really sick and yes I really like cough syrup. Am I a good candidate or only slightly a candidate for cough syrup and if only slightly what else should I spit to the doc?

Ehh, I don’t think a doctor is going to give you codeine cough syrup just for a scratchy throat. Usually they only give the syrup to children (because it’s not a high dose) or people that have mildly pulled a muscle or something. He’ll probably just tell you to take some Tylenol.

If you really want it, though, try saying that your throat is really bothering you and the codeine syrup has really helped you in the past. If you don’t have a history of trying to get meds out of your doctor, he might write you a script, but if he’s more conservative about giving out controlled substances, he’ll tell you to take something OTC.

I`ve had 50 % of my chicken flock of different breeds to become ill and die with swollen eyes and runny eyes and noses along with a dry cough with lose of appitite and weekness before death.

I need to know what disease is causing this is so I can find the right treatment / cure.

Get a vet out to them asap – this sounds like avian flu

I used to take the cough gels and I’ll admit I enjoyed it. But I began to have concerns for my heath, and the last time I took it I got really sick, which was a long time ago. I don’t know if the formula changed, or if I personally just didn’t like it.

But if someone has a cold, I see nothing wrong with them taking cough syrup with DXM in it. Please give me your opinion.

pretty sure it is restricted to 18 years or older at least in Oklahoma.. thought it was the entire US.
