I’m planning to adopt a dog, but it turns out it got kennel cough. It’s only four months old, so how long until the dog would be better if treated? I don’t want to bring home a still slightly sick dog because I have an old dog and I don’t want her to get sick.

First get your other dog treated using the nasal dose (it works better). The cough can last several weeks and is highly contagious. It’s not life threatening but can cause complications in an already sick dog. You don’t want to expose your other dog to it until you have it cleared up. You will need to keep it in quarantine until it is past the contageous stages.

Been sick for a straight week with a bad cough and lots of phlegm, and the usual flu symptoms. Been taking cough medicine but it’s not helping out.I am thinking about going to my doctor but i wanted to see if anyone would know what i have before i jump the gun and think my lungs are gonna explode.

Head to the doctor immediately. You sound like you have an infection. Never fool around with your lungs. You aren’t jumping the gun, you are being sensible. Lung infections can be nasty and hard to clear up if you don’t get them treated.

I cough and cough and have conjestion and wheezing in my lungs. The doctor took an x-ray, but I didn’t have pneumonia. I take beta blockers and other meds. I’m also taking allergy meds, but they don’t seem to be working well. Any ideas?

There is a strong chance that you could be at risk for emphysema, bronchitis, or asthma. The question is, how do you get this diagnosed? Most likely if your doctor has the same suspicion as I do he/she will make you give approximately 10 strong blows into a little catalyst that will measure your strength. Then, he/she will determine if you need an inhaler. I really don’t think that beta blockers would do much to help this, as they are usually beneficial for only cardiovascular diseases. If the allergy medications are not working, this is an immediate indication that you have a thoracic issue that needs to be addressed by your physician immediately. There are several medications and other means of therapy that can help you and your condition get better. I recommend you see your doctor soon.

This dry cough has lasted 10 months now. Nothing helps and I do not smoke. All my test have came back normal. Just want to now it anyone has had this same problem. What made the cough go away?

I have a cough and it doesn’t really bother me during the day but at night, I can’t sleep comfortable at all because I won’t stop coughing.

I was prescribed a cough syrup containing codeine a year ago and it worked wonders!
But, clinics are closed right now and I want to sleep well tonight.

I don;t know, but codeine is a cough suppressant

I know in Australia, codeine was recently further restricted due to problems with addiction, so it may be restricted where you as as well and as such prescription only

I am having severe allergy problems, at this point, I’ve been coughing and sneezing so much that my voice is gone. Is it ok for me to take a benadryl (diphenhydramine hydrochloride) and cough syrup DM (dextromethorphan Hbr and Guaifenesin) at the same time? I haven’t taken either one yet, so if you have any other advice for my allergy problems that would be great.

Yes you can take the two together. However, don’t if you plan on driving or operating machinery. Field sobriety checks will indicate you are DUII. There are no known negative drug interaction between these medications and they do not duplicate treatments. DM is an expectorant and cough suppressant and has no antihistamine capacity.

COPD with Lung Fibrosis

Cough syrup. Breathing treatments will do nothing for it…it may just aggravate the cough more.

I am a smoker, but I don’t really cough that much any other time.

recently I started doing yoga again and literally after ten minutes my nose starts running and I’m coughing up a storm..

well you can’t do much except coughing out the stuff and then continuing with your yoga.

I heard that you can get high off of cough syrup, but I also heard you can over dose on it and die. What is the ingredient that if over dosed on would kill you? How much of that ingredient does it take to kill someone?
Oh no no no it’s not 99% alcohol, the DXM in it is what get’s you high, but what other ingredients can kill you (besides the DXM)?

If it’s prescription cough syrup it would contain a narcotic, and that would be the most dangerous thing.

Then, like as you mentioned there is the Dextromethorphan, that people get high off.

There is Tylenol, that you can overdose on.
Nyquill and other multi-symptom cough syrups have some in it.

The only other thing I can think of would be Sudafed, but that’s behind the counters now.
It’s not so easy to get.
If you have enough of it, it can kill you.
It will cause your heart to speed up and work too hard.

If you took these through cough syrup, you’d have to take a ton of it to kill you.
And it’d be very ugly.

Please help me with this debate topic. i will be debating against this topic. What should i talk about?

LMAO, this kid above me is a dumbass. But yeah, take Nyquil Cough and Queef, it should do the trick.
