Hard Cough

so i got sick about three and a half a week ago, or well i started coughing and thought it was my seasonal asthma. I didnt get an inhaler until a week after to which then i started getting a sore throat, wheezing, phlemn no fever, couldnt sleep for two nights because of the cough, it was always worse when i laid down. i went to the doctor then and they told me i had a viral infection so i stayed home and rested. it was a week later when i started feeling better, less coughing, but still there. I started to loose my voice and then i had a click in my throat. I went back to the doctor for the click and they were stumped and didnt know what it was. the doctor said it could have been allergies so she gave me claritin to stop the cough. It did stop it for a while, but it still persists. It feels like i have to cough every second.

anyone know what I may have? any suggestions? thanks in advance.

croup is a viral infection with a cough and severe like
common cold symptoms
common in children its not unheard
of in teens and adults.

I have three Labs 2 adult and one pup the adults both have slight cough and sometimes bring up some froth, pup has odd cough, they are still all eating, drinking and happy, most people have advised me to let it run its course as long as they are not getting worse ? Any other advise would be great

Right it’s 3 in the morning and I’ve been coughing non stop for an hour now. I have no cough medicine in the house and none of the shops are open for me to get some so does anyone know if I can do anything to make this go away quickly and make me go to sleep?

Hot tea, honey or just heat water and inhale the vapor it will clear your system for a bit and it feels great.

My sister recently broke out into hives after taking this medicine as well as another medicine. We are trying to narrow down the possibilities, but I do not have the cough syrup’s ingredients. So if someone could please give me the ingredients or a place to get the ingredient list. Thanks!

There were a few different cvs cough syrups on the site, and u didn’t specify, so I just picked 3 different ones.

1. CVS Tussin Cough for Adults & Children
Active Ingredients (in Each 5 Ml Tsp): Dextromethorphan HBr (USP 10 Mg), Guaifenesin (USP 100 Mg). Inactive Ingredients: Aspartame, Benzoic Acid, Flavors, Glycerin, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Polyethylene Glycol, Purified Water.

CVS Tussin Cough Formula
Active Ingredient (in each 5 ml Tsp): Guaifenesin (USP 100 mg). Inactive Ingredients: Anhydrous Citric Acid, Caramel, FD&C Red 40, Flavors, Glycerin, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Propylene Glycol, Purified Water, Saccharin Sodium, Sodium Benzoate.

3. CVS Tussin Cough Formula Maximum Strength
Active Ingredient (in each 5 ml Teaspoonful): Dextromethorphan HBr, USP (15 mg). Inactive Ingredients: Alcohol (1.4%), Citric Acid, FD&C Red No. 40 Flavors, Glucose, Glycerin, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Saccharin Sodium, Sodium Benzoate, Water.

My doctor ordered a chest x-ray, which I went for on Wednesday. It came back abnormal, because of a spot. However, thankfully, the CAT scan showed that I was normal. If it is not a cyst or tumor, what could be causing it? I’m coughing up white sputum.

I have been having like a dry, not very flemish cough. And like they are at random moments. Like I can not cough for like an hour, then its CONSTANT coughing!!! How do I stop it?? Naturally, without like cough syrups. Not working too well.

My dog who is 6 is showing signs of kennel cough but only started showing symptoms a couple of days ago. He was in boarding for about a week and has had the vaccine. Do symptoms take this long to show up? He has had it before and I noticed the symptoms within a couple of days. He has a cough that makes him almost chock and vomit. Or does this sound like a cold?

Thats kennel cough, (as a dog trainer/shower I know it well!) and the symptoms CAN take that long and just be building up.

I am having continuous dry cough since one year and hence I am not able to breath freely like normal person. The cough starts only when am travelling or else while taking spicy food. I consulted several docters and took medicine as per thier prescription. There is no result. Can anyone please help me with some tips of some home made medicine to get out of this trouble?

Drink water with honey, suck on cough drops or hard candy, try to stay away from dry air, get a small peel of ginger sprinkle it with salt and chew, check around for mold or mildew, put hot packs on your chest, try taking vitamin A,C, and E, and/or inhale steam! Hope this helps!

I had my appendix taken out last 3 days and I’m feeling fantastic, some people won’t even be able to move or walk or even type. Anyways, everytime I cough, my stomach hurts from the staples they put in as a substitute until i get my stitches, but if that’s not why its making my stomach hurt when i cough, what is making it hurt? And how can i cough without MAKING it hurt. Please im in need of help!

I smoke, but only about 10 cigarettes a day, and when i breath out (in the same way you do for an asthma test), and when i do you can hear this horrible gargling noise deep in my throat and lungs. I don’t want any useless advice on how smoking is bad for you, i am fully aware of it! But if anyone has a simple cure for it then i would be very grateful! Thanks.
