Hard Cough

I have a dog and a cat and I just adopted a new puppy, which have found out , has kennel cough. Is this this contagious to my adult dog and cat?

It's extremely contagious to other dogs. Even dogs who have had bordatella shots.

If the pup has kennel cough, quarantine him away from your other animals.

Am I already getting a smokers cough? I've been smoking marijuana occasionally the past 6 months and everyday the past 2 months. Is the build up of phlegm and the cough related? I've had this cough and phlegm for about a week or so with no sign of improving.

yeah probably you can probably get rid of your cough and phlegm and continue to smoke but it would be harder than if you didnt smoke, smoking also makes you more suseptible to cough and colds because it aggravates the lungs and sinuses and therefore makes it harder for them to cope with illness, smoking bongs is ok depending on how you do it if you use it like a water pipe its good because it filters the smoke but if your hardcore and try to pull through the bong in one you actually use up alot more lung capacity than usual and therefore over a while this will lead to a build up of phlegm as when you breath normally you do not inhale as deeply when you rip the bong.
i would suggest drinking alot more water than usual as this will help cleanse your lungs and keep you hydrated, as often the cause of a cough is simple dehydration. give the bong a rest once in a while or just get it out on those special occasions, or use it as more of a water pipe and just sip it obviously depending on its size. also get lots of fresh air even exersice will help clear your lungs, try smoking in the park i dont know where you live but if you can find a place to smoke outside its always better than hot boxing it all the time. eating apples is good they contain an acid which is supposed to help with cleaning the lungs. and lastly dont forget anti bacterial mouth wash keep your throat and mouth clean especially when you sleep will help alot as the build up of bacteria on the back of throat will be greater after smoking and is likely to lead to coughing and or a sore throat.

I'm just curious how I can get cough syrup out of my ti-89 keypad they are stuck and the screws are stripped. It spilt when it was in my bag and seeped into the keys, but the calculator works fine, however the keypad gets stuck a lot and are hard to push down. The screws are stripped and won't come out, I'm thinking of dissolving the syrup or something like that, but I'm not sure with what.

No way to effectively clean this without ruining the calculator.

I do not understand. This guy coughs and clears his throat every single blessed waking minute. He is my temporary flatmate or roommate as some may call them.

if you suffer from chronic bronchitis and cough plus clear your throat ever waking minute of your day, then why in the world do people like that smoke yet?

Especially home remedies. I cant get into the doc for at least a week or so. I dont want to take anything that will hurt the baby. I was taking mucinex and Zyrtec but immediately stopped once i saw those two pink lines.

Unfortunately they wont have you take anything but Robitussin/Tusin generic! I know it sucks because I had bad bronchitis when I was early on in pregnancy and had to wait it out and only use that. They will let you use a rescue inhaler/ inhaler if it is necessary! That will depend upon if you have asthma and if you are having constriction in breathing! I was able to use an inhaler on a limited bases because I have asthma! The doctor said she would rather I be able to breath and get oxygen to baby then not to be able to breath and the baby be deprived of vital oxygen! If you can't get in you should be able to at least speak to a phone nurse whom can assist you with the meds you are taking and let you know which are safe and what you might take instead! Good luck!

P.S. Zyrtec is not safe! It is too strong and my doctor said to use Claritin non- drowsy! She said to look for the active ingredient Loratadine 10 mg and no stronger, one a day! She also said to only use that is it was very necessary from my allergies! Again consult your doctor to be sure!

My boss is a Christian Scientist and won't even take a Tylenol. Now she has this chronic, dry, hacking cough that she's had for two weeks now. She sits right next to me and it's beyond annoying. It's interfering with my concentration.

I'm not worried about getting infected or anything because I have a good immune system and never get sick. But I find it really obnoxious that she does nothing about her cough except call her practitioner for healing and (presumably) pray about it.

A cough like this one requires something a little stronger than prayer, if you don't mind me saying so.

Anyhow, what would you do about this? Should I say something? Should I leave some medicine on her desk as a hint? What do I do?

tell her you are having trouble concentrating when there are distracting noises and that it's interfering with your work.. maybe she'll take the hint..

It is a dry cough sounds like a bark which has been going on for 2 weeks. Keeps everyone in the house awake at night. Doctor says it's viral. Taking cough medicine especially for dry coughs also antibiotics doctor prescribed but nothing is working. Any suggestions please. also tried steam.

I've come down with a doozy of a Cold. Sneezing, sore throat, headaches, a very nasty cough! And chills.. Etc.. Can anyone recommend a cough syrup that won't make my chest tight? Thanks.

I have allergies like everyone else. I use Claritin to take care of the runny nose, itchy watery eyes, and sneezing. But what about the coughing? I cough like crazy. I do the Albuterol and cough drops but it feels like they only help me 10% of the time. I still keep coughing and have a hard time sleeping at night. I'm coughing right now as I write this. I'm thinking about investing in an air purifier, maybe it will help with the coughing I don't know but what do I have to lose. So if there is anyone out there that can help please provide me with your answers. Much appreciated.

Look for a cough syrup with dextromethorpham listed as an active ingredient. It is a cough suppressant. If the coughing is due to post nasal drip take Benadryl as well.
